Take a morning walk along the new levee and look for birds at the Lower Dungeness River Floodplain Restoration Site! Join us for an exploration of these protected lands, led by a birding expert of Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society. North Olympic Land Trust’s Community Relations Manager, Lexi Wagor, and Conservation Easement Steward, Julie Anne Hopkins, will share the unique story of the protected lands.

Participants should wear sturdy shoes and expect to walk 1-2 miles on mostly flat, compact gravel. Binoculars and/or spotting scopes are recommended. Depending on bird activity, the outing may last more than two hours.

Lexi Wagor is the Community Relations Manager at North Olympic Land Trust, working to help local community members build deeper relationships with the landscapes that nourish them. North Olympic Land Trust has been working to conserve and care for lands in Clallam County since 1990 to protect places vital for local habitat, biodiversity, and our culture. Lexi holds a B.A. from the Evergreen State College, where their studies focused on the intersections of human culture and the natural environment. As a member of the Washington Conservation Corps, Lexi served on a crew in Olympia that conducted forage fish spawning surveys all over the Salish Sea and later as North Olympic Salmon Coalition’s Education and Outreach individual placement. Prior to working for North Olympic Land Trust, Lexi did communications and development work for the Bainbridge Island Land Trust. Lexi currently serves on North Olympic Salmon Coalition’s Board of Directors.
